Yea, Shows what I know about golf...Not Much at all.
My brother makes up for my ignorance though.....He loves the game ( sport) with a passion.

No worries!

I don't know much about golf, but am surprised Tiger Woods tied for 4th. That is the best he has done in years. Maybe he is not washed up...

Most professional athletes don't know the rules of the game they play. Golf especially. Did you know that there is a book of rules, and an interpretation book, and a book of decisions in golf? :D
Donovan McNabb, who played for the Philadelphia Eagles and other NFL teams for 12 years, admitted he didn't know the rules of an overtime playoff game. That's why there are officials on every hole at the Masters.

Here's what Curtis Strange said on ESPN's Colin Cowherd show this morning; "Tiger admitted he tried to get a better lie and that's when all heck broke loose. The Rules Committee had already ruled it was not an improper drop (which is crazy if they reviewed the same tape I saw). Now he did sign an improper score card and that's the problem, however, the officials should have confronted him before he signed his score card."

I saw the shot live, and the drop. Granted, the drop is not exactly where he made the first shot, but to me it looks close enough. Given the heat of the moment, and the fact that he made the perfect shot and got screwed, a shot that was too perfect, I'd give him the benefit of the doubt, considering the situation, and the ruling by the Masters people. Maybe he got the rules mixed up, because the rules differ depending on what type of hazard it is, and for red hazards you can drop it anywhere along the line where it went in the hazard. Granted, he should know the rules, but they can get convoluted, and if you look at the pic in this link, it's not like he's that far from the original shot.

The rule should be changed to read "within one club length no closer to the hole", not "as near as possible", and the Masters people should have officials on the course like all the other majors.

People who don't follow golf or even play golf always crawl out of the woodwork when Tiger's involved.

And Tiger did more for Steve Williams than the other way around. Nobody would even know his name if it wasn't for Tiger.

It was a great tournament, finished in classic Masters style. I honestly was rooting for Angel, but Adam Scott played great. Off course, once they outlaw anchored putters, you'll never hear from him again.

Big congrats to Adam Scott! Long overdue for him to win a Major and I expect him to win several more.
