Hello folks,

I haven't posted in a few years. Forgive me if this topic has been covered already. So I was looking at the new Guild website and took note that there are only two models made in the USA - the M-75 and the X-500? If this is true, what a shame. Although better than none at all ...

Happy Playing!

HI Guilder, suggest you do some scanning of posts in the last few months for articles aobut "Westerly Collection", which will also contain some background about what's been happening with Guild.
In a nutshell, Fender sold the brand to Cordoba about 18 months ago, Cordoba already had a link to MIC guitars and is keeping the brand going with MIC instruments while tooling up domestic production.
Pretty similar to what Fender did with MIC instruments when they moved through Corona and Tacoma so quickly.
At this time I'm not even sure they're actually making the 2 models you mentioned, most of the attention I've seen has been focused on announcements of future plans for US-built flattops.
The real problem was getting final regulatory code passes for a brand new manufacturing facility in Cordoba's Oxnard CA location, that was finalized only within the last 60 days or so, so I think they're only now getting into actual production.
Other folks here may have more current info, but hopefully this'll kick-start some further input for you..

The Aristocrat and X-500 were made in New Hartford along with the Artist Award. Since joining CMG andmoving operations to CA we are anxiously awaiting the release of more electrics.
