..... but...... how do you recover from something like that?..... ...

Hello from Finland

Even though it is very cruel & honest description of the moment, it is far more alerting than tv-pics showing people running and hiding behind whatever they can find. More like the picture of the little vietnam girl running naked burning with napalm. It transfers the horror to anyone who reads or sees it. That girl in your post could have been my little boy if it had happened here. Or me - leaving that little boy orphan.

Be strong, Tomas, and take care of yourself.
"Rough language" is what's needed if we have any hope of getting something done about this ongoing madness.

I'm a BIG fan of plowshares and I shoot with Nikons,

Please, can we keep the thinly veiled politics out of one of the few places left without it?

Hey Gary, I'm not seeing thinly veiled politics here. I wasn't talking about any of that and I don't think anyone else was either. Can't people say they're sad, shocked, or sorry without someone getting offended? C'mon, man.... people are upset and emotional. Maybe take a breath and let people express their sorrow? Is that okay?

I have no issue with anything you've posted and I meant no interference with people expressing their sorrow.

Everyone's on edge, me included. I need a walk in the woods.

... I love you all.... you're the BEST!! :encouragement:

Tom, I thought I'd posted here already, but I guess not. My best wishes go out to you, and I share the grief and sadness you are feeling in the aftermath. Be well, and stay strong.

Well, I've been listening to many of the feel good and utterly heroic stories that came out of all this and I'm just totally impressed and awed by it. People forgetting their own safety to help others in need. Risking their lives for folks they've never met be it Police, EMT's, Firemen, Doctors, Nurses and just plain everyday people. I'd like to think I would have the courage to do what they did but I guess ones never knows until, God forbid, you're thrown into a situation like that. We have out share of problems but there are some really fine people who live here. The one that really grabbed me was the young black man who I believe saved over 30 people and helped them to safety. And he took two bullets for his efforts. Good on him I say.

Like Mr. Rodgers said, always look for the helpers.

Yes, Richard, you're speaking of Jonathan Smith, 30. He saved 30 people and got them to safety before he took a bullet to his neck. This is what a HERO looks like.

He is but one of many. I'm so proud of my city right now I can't even say. My friend Caitlin that was bartending with her friend Dillion helped get a whole bunch of people out a back employee entrance/exit and behind some trailers where they were safe until they could be evacuated. So many people pulling together to make a difference!!! #VegasStrong
