They are both dreads so I say yes. However, the headstock will be longer on your 12, so I could see it rubbing at the top.

My G-312 lives in a Guild dread case (which I bought in the '90s) with plenty of room but things can change over the years. Would a measurement help?

I saw this 2520 Guild 70s case on eBay, which is supposed to fit dreads. Doublecheck this on GAD's catalog site to be sure. I'm not sure about the 12-string fit, though.

It all depends on how large the headstock compartment is. My D25-12 will fit in all of mine except the Ess and Ess case my '73 D50 originally came in.

thanks. the general concensus seems to be it should fit in a Guild dread case from the 70s and after. which shouldnt be so hard to find. i was probably going to try and find a newer one and not worry about the vintage mojo on the case (as the D-212 itself has more than pleny of mojo without any case at all!)

mavuser,
I am most certainly not one of LTG's finest, but nevertheless, wouldn't the easiest and most positive way to find a case be to take the guitar into a Music Store and try on a few until one fits perfectly???????

Perhaps. But there is are major hassle factors: transporting a caseless instrument safely to the store; dealing with all the store's policies and security so there is not an accusation of shoplifting when you leave with your instrument; and actually finding a store with enough cases in stock to make it worth the effort.

Of less importance, but there is also the time management aspect of things. A trip to a music store requires a 1-2 hour block of time, minimum, whereas asking questions online and placing an order requires several interactions of less than five minutes each, most of which can happen when convenient and not when some other entity is open for business.

yes, thanks. but stores dont really stock Guild cases and it appears that is what it needs. i have other Guild dreads that fit in Guardian case that this D-212 doesnt fit, which is odd.

mavuser,
The Guild I currently have is the only one I've ever owned, so my knowledge of the brand's products is slight.
Is their something unique about your particular guitar's size and shape that necessitates a particular dedicated Guild case, rather than a generic one of comparable build quality?
