I'm actually contemplating replacing the bridge on my GAD30 with a traditional Guild bridge.

Any thoughts or prayers are acceptable.

Just pondering at this point,

Why? And does the pin spacing match?
:?:

I sort of get you wanting to do that, but chances are a bridge on a Chinese-made guitar might not come off as cleanly as you'd like, and as pointed out above, before you have the Guild bridge in hand, you never really know if the bridge pin spacing is going to match. If it doesn't, I'd leave it be.

"A Bridge Too Far" 1977. Loosely based on true events. What a great movie and what a cast; Sean Connery, Ryan O'Neal, Gene Hackman, Micheal Caine, Anthony Hopkins, James Caan, Liv Ullmann , Elliott Gould, Robert Redford.

Oh, you mean a guitar bridge. Sorry, got nothing.

Didn't even think of that one. I bet it's not hideglue, but even if it heats off ok, one chip in that poly lacquer's all it takes, can't be patched like good ol' NCL.
Or maybe you already have a contingency plan for those problems, in which case, it's just another one of those observations better said than left unsaid anyway.

Points taken, and since I can get one for only 10 bucks, I think I'll order it so I can have it "in hand" to find out...first hand. :)

To "leave it be" is always an option,
Joe

Pretty different shape of the GAD bridge, not sure how the Poly will react, it's damn hard to patch Poly.

I'm with you now. It's a cheap ticket to an exotic destination. Nuthin' says ya gotta get off the train if ya don't like the looks of the place, and the sightseein' on the way was worth the price of the ticket.
Y'even get a souvenir if you don't do anything.
:D
