Had occasion this afternoon to rescue/rehab a small bird which had a collision with a window. It had a strong heartbeat so I held it for almost an hour to keep it warm, gave it a drop of water now and then, and it finally started to come around. :D

This was one of the lucky ones. Glad I got to it before something else found it!

My wife and I have a bluebird trail. One spring there was a cold snap just after a nest of babies had hatched. We opened up the nest box on a chilly afternoon and thought all the babies had died, they were really unresponsive. So se called a friend with more experience. He took the nest, babies and all and put them in his car with the heater on. They started to come around after they had warmed up. We put them back in the box and ended up putting hand warmers under the nest at night until the cold spell was over. It worked and all five babies fledged.

You did a good deed for that little guy.

He comes from a long line of good deed doers. I'm sure he drinks a little Dewars now and then too!
