Is a Nightbird I the same as a Nightbird II without the bling?

https://reverb.com/item/2138068-1987-guild-nightbird-i?_aid=criteo-ads

i played this guitar it is amazin shape cosmetically, in my opinion. really, really nice. however, also really heavy- by my standards at least. i did not plug it in, just picked it up for a minute.

the Nightbird 1 has no neck binding, no headstock binding, rosewood fretboard (not ebony), dot inlays (no nightbird inlays). chambers should be the same as a standard (but man that thing was heavy!) Grots Nightingale is much lighter!

I know it says make an offer, but I paid less than that for both of the "real" Nightbirds I've owned.

I actually prefer the nickel hardware and unbound neck, but nobody asked for my opinion, did they?

Anyway, I agree that $2k is pretty steep. I paid that for my '87 Nightbird II, but that was several years ago when it seemed the prices were higher.

Here's a black NB I for $1000: http://providence.craigslist.org/msg/5601438557.html

I'm wonder if the top on that one is spruce or maple.
