I'm puzzled that the pickups - the seller says they are HB-1s - on this '76 Starfire IV appear to have only two adjustment screws and not three? Could they possibly be '60s anti-hums?
The guitar is for sale on the Boston CL. Link to the posting at bottom. No affiliation.

Those look like Antihums - look how thick the bezels are.

You're right. I wonder how that happened? I don't see any sign of modification. Perhaps it was a special order? The seller says they are HB-1s but that doesn't appear to be the case. Either way a nice looking guitar.

That's something only @hansmoust can solve/answer!

Comparing that 1976 one (#145291, nothing special on the label)

To another one with HB-1 (that is a 1975 one):

The Bridge pickup is a mini "antihuman" pickup. The neck pickup was replaced. You can see the bezel screws are different and if you look closely you can see the pickguard was modified to allow the larger HB1 body.

Now in question is what the HB versions are? The neck pickup has a lot of room in the bezel. A HB1 would be tight squeeze in a standard HB bezel. It may suggest a Fender HB1. You could convert a standard HB1 to a 2-hole mount by tapping a center hole. I've done that for a M80 I had years ago. But the Fender HB1 comes stock with the option for 1-hole or 2-hole mounting and has a smaller pickup size.

The interesting question is why were the mini humbucker installed on a 1976 guitar?

Hans may be able to confirm the configuration as it left the factory.
