Seems I've been on a roll with sunburst Mahogany Guilds, so I thought I'd broaden my search and landed this beauty.
"70s d40 natural Restore" didn't work out from a previous thread. You know when a guitar is working for you and you feel an investment
in a reset/re-fret feels right. That guitar didn't work out for me so here the next candidate.

Nice that you get to return home since your mom is doing better; being there for her at a time of ill heath says a lot about you. Doing the work of Angels is not easy but usually very rewarding.
Good luck with your new acquisition. May you enjoy it for many years , oh, beautiful guitar by the way...............I'm a sucker for a burst like that!

Always wanted to own and play a 70s D40.
Beautiful burst. Are you sure the guitar is a '70s model? I thought Guild didn't start doing that style of burst until 1980.
(I used to have a 1980 D50 with the same burst) minor detail, looks like an awesome guitar regardless of what exact year it is.

I was fixing to say the 70’s bursts seem more yellow in the center iirc

DC100.... I think that dates it at 1979
Not sure why the other sticker is there above, but hopefully it can be removed carefully.

I remember that shop. Bought a Strat from them. Can't recall the name but there was only one on El Camino.

I think Guild like with a lot of things, doesn't get credit for their bursts.

Not sure why someone would put a sticker inside over the label of a vintage guitar.
But there it is. Didn't distract me from buying it though.

We have seen numerous examples of instruments where the selling dealer added a decal or sticker or something that advertised the dealer, to instruments that they (presumably) sold as new.

@Br1ck knows the shop and the address and phone number don't seem to belong to a music store today. The absence of an area code plus a contemporary reference supports the hypothesis that the sticker was added by the selling dealer at time of sale.
