Here's an interesting Gibson factory video. A lot the work is tedious and repetitive so I can see why it can be an ergonomic nightmare for workers.

Really a lot of the factory has changed since I was there last. There's a new big addition! I suspected the addition would be a new finish area, but I had to watch the vid all the way through until I saw that I was right.
One of the reasons why guitars are suspended so high in the air is because they're out of the way up there, but a second reason is they're drying while they're up there, above all the dust on the factory floor. The serpentine line is designed to move along at one set pace al day long, and everything is timed to that movement.
I left Gibson 20 years ago, so I didn't expect to see very many familiar faces. The 2 spokesmen are both guys I know, and I was surprised one was still working.

Thans for putting up that video. I have often wondered what the new corporate management did in Montana, and I was happy to see the company had sunk some new investment in it.
