Upon inspection I found that the action is not necessarily too low, but rather, the string spacing is off. The neck appears perfectly straight...not twisted. Does the bridge need to be centered? I assume it's a floating bridge. I have not had a archtop in a very long time and my memory fails me. See pictures.
Thank you.

Yes, it appears that the bridge could be moved toward the bass side by 2-3 mm. It's a floating bridge so easy enough to do.

Yes. The bridge is floating and needs to be centered and intonated.

Sweetwater gives the following procedure (after you found the general place for the bridge as shown in both videos below):
  • First, bring your strings to pitch. Then, check the tuning of each string at the 12th fret. It should match.
  • If the tuning at the 12th fret is sharp, you need to move the bridge back (away from the neck).
  • If the tuning at the 12th fret is flat, you need to move the bridge forward (towards the neck).
  • Please note that your bridge will likely not be straight across. This is due to the fact that the intonation of your strings will not be even across the board and each will require slightly different lengths. It is very common for the bridge to be angled back farther on the bass side than the treble side.

This guy in the following video is "funny", he explains in general the right steps but screws up big time by mounting the bridge 180deg wrong! 😱 (means he has the compensation for the b string on the D string!)

Thank you! That was what I thought. This is my first time, since I received this, to look at it. The strings look brand new. There is nothing to clean. Everything is spotless. The frets look nicely polished and beveled. There's a tiny bit of tarnish on the bridge and Guildsby. I can address that once I decide which strings I want to use.

Well, that was easy enough. It is perfectly centered and the intonation is right on. It sounds great! I plan on playing it more tonight. What a fantastic tone!
thank you again for the fast reply, and video/instructions.
