I am pretty new to the world of Guild, but I have an X-500 that I'm selling, and I'm looking for more information about it. According to the serial number it should be a 1974 model hello. The label inside of the f hole does not saywhere it was made other than in the USA. I was told that it was a model made in New York City, but according to what I can tell Guilds we're no longer made in New York City at that time.

I have pictures at the link. Can anyone else shed anymore light on the guitar?

First off I see that this is your first post so let me say Welcome to LTG! 1974 would have been Westerly, Rhode Island made. The pickups are not original and someone has drilled the original pickup bezels. In all original good playing condition with no structural issues I have seen these sell for between $1500-$2000 maybe more for a Mint All original Example. However yours is not Original just by looking at the pickups and bezels. No telling what else has been changed on the electronics. I know that this particular guitar Just sold on Ebay at auction a week ago for $1225. Here is the ad.

So depending on Neck angle and intonation, etc... You got a good deal. What you are really asking from the last 2 ads for this particular guitar that have been posted in the last few days on Ebay for between $2000-$2100 is, "How much can I make off of this if I want to sell it?" If you want to sell it within a week or two you might list it for $1500-$1700. Any higher than that you may have to wait awhile for the right buyer to come along. You also may want to check into listing and selling on Reverb.com as their fees are far less than Ebay. Best of luck to you!
