I tried the search function, but was unable to find mention of this one. Very interesting listing.
I've never had much use for a Bass VI, so I'm not actually interested, but what a conversation piece! Would of course be cool to see/hear a demo of it. As for the story behind it, I see no reason to question the legitimacy, with the exception of the inclusion of Blows Against The Empire.... timeline wise, this is not possible since that album was released in 1970.

Huh. Except for the BATF timing error the story passes the sniff test and the provenance letter helps a lot. But no interest in a VI and I have other things I'd rather do with $32K :)

Edit: BATF should be BATE (Blows Against the Empire) but the typo amuses me so I will acknowledge it rather than correct it.

Rick Turner is on my radar for several reasons. This is not the first time his memory has contradicted "official" Alembic history. I have snagged the provenance letter and will note that the core issue may be as simple as the note placed in the case is incorrect. Of course if I were trying to reconstruct "The Truth" I would be interested in what Jack Casady had to say and who the Alembic records listed as the first owner. But this is just curiously for me since I am not in the market ;-)sdfeoagbwxx0wpcxjlvu.jpg
