anyone have any experience playing 69-71ish Gibson EB-1 bass? it is the reissue of the 50s EB-1. It will obviously never be the one from the 50s...but how does it stand on its own?? thanks for any info!

The reissue actually has a very different pickup from the original. The '50s EB had an enormous single-coil unit, while the later ones had the same "mudbucker" as the EB-0 and EB-3. As a result, it sounds quite a bit like an EB-0. The thick carved body made it heavier than an EB-0, and I'm pretty sure that factor (plus the higher price) is why not too many were sold.
