1966 Guild starfire V

Guild mania over here this past month. This one happened before the 72’ D55 I had to jump on and drove 1000 miles for in a day (Check previous post on that one) This one’s a 66 Hoboken Starfire. Traded a reissue strat and added cash over at Carters in Nashville, believe this one was on the wall for awhile somehow. It has a repaired crack in the wing of the headstock but I’m not the type to care. Cool old brown case believed to be original - beat up but the folks over at Carters are kind enough to offer to reglue the side of the case and also order and then put on a new handle so have to say props to them on that one. When the model was introduced during 1963.

The Starfire IV did not have a Master Volume, unless it was ordered with one in which case it would have the 'Special' designation on the label. The Starfire 4 did get a Master volume after the Starfire 5 was discontinued during the early '70s; at that time it also did get the block inlays and higher-end Grover tuners.
