Throwing all '60s D-40s together on one big heap would, in 'my book', be the same as saying that all '60s Fender Stratocasters should be priced equally, and that last statement would show that you are not in touch with the 'real world'.
Sincerely,

Nothing is worse, to me, than the grouping of 1968-1972 all solid wood, flat backed, mahogany topped D-25's (or their Corona re-issues), with all other D-25's...which have none of those features. and of course, the flat back mahogany top one is much more "rare" (lack of a better term) than the "standard" D-25.
the blue book is usually either high or low in my opinion. with the D-25's it is just flat-out incorrect
