Christmas can sure be a wonderful time of the year. Here's what my sweet wife gave me for being such a good boy this year! I'm gonna start being good again today...Christmas is just 364 days away!

Two questions: How good were you, and does this "sweet wife" have a sister? 8) I'm thinking Mrs. Polkadothound is in solid contention for LTG Spouse of the Year with a present like this.

One answer: The shot of just the X-500B didn't post the first time because ... we all needed to drool over that sunburst Duane Eddy just a little bit more. Pass the bibs, please.

Thanks Thunderface...If she has a sister I'd have married them both. Both of those babys are in incredable condition, and they play ...well, all I can say is wow. I keep wanting to stop playing and just listen to them both. I need a surgate player so I can be the audience. I have been playing them back and forth, and they both just kill me...which may be why the wife bought them for me. :D

Wow! Congratulations, that is an amazing looking guitar, and I'm sure it sounds and plays spectacular too.

I need to explain to my wife the difference between a ukulele and a '61 X-500. Please let your wife know that I turn 50 in October, and a '63 X-500 is all I am wanting...besides your wife, of course! That is one spectacular guitar!

The bottom line on all of these guitars is that we don't "own" them- we just pay to hold them for the next generation...and receive a little pleasure along the way. I only hope someone in the family becomes a good guitarist, so that I might pass them along to someone who cares. I hope my grand kids are listening...........

If not, you guys are up for adoption, right?

Uh, yeah! Was there another valid response to that question?

In my gathering of Guild goodness I am hoping the same with my 7 year old son. He will definitely appreciate them as he has already been told that they will contribute to his inheritance one day, but I would much prefer he learn to play them (and better than me!) rather than sell them. If he does sell them perhaps someone out here, on whatever iteration of this website is in existence at that time, will wind up with a smokin' good deal! I can say with near certainty that my GSR's will all likely be in superb condition despite me playing them practically every day. As a matter of fact, I was playing both of them tonight, and they get better each time I pick them up!
