Oh wow. Six days left and its already sitting at 1900+. It'll be interesting to see where this one ends up. Thankfully it's way out of my league right now, so I won't have to obsess on it for the next 6 days!

I really liked the history lesson there. I did not know that Guild was formed by Epiphone craftsmen, way Kool. I want to see where this one goes also.

Not to rain on the parade for this Aristocrat, but it has a toggle switch that was apparently punched out at one time in its history. There was no washer around the toggle switch that is that wide as can be seen from the picture. I own a 60 Aristocrat as well as a 63 17" George Barnes Acousti-Lectric whereas the Aristocrat has only a small retainer kind of surround/nut and not a large washer type nut or whatever this is on this guitar. Very high price for this Aristocrat given this situation IMHO. jim in Maine

Aristocrats that are in very good to excellent condition usually sell above $4000. Worn ones typically sell for around $2500+. Aristocrats that have had major refinshing range from $800 (if you are lucky!) to $2000+. I would say the this guitar is in the $2500+ range. The guitar has no bnding issues and although it may have had the toggle switch area damaged the rest of the imperfections are just 50 years of reasonable wear and tear. If I didn't have one I would definitly pay $2500 for this one. Don't be suprised if it goes above $3000. I was looking pretty hard last year for one and guitars in this condition were going above $3000.

I am just offering an opnion based on years of observations.

There you go! Keep an eye out for a beater or a refinished Aristocrat. For a player they are more affordable and a better buy.
