Al, I wonder if you are thinking of his "Maestro" album cover, but I don't think that's a Guild.

Thanks buddy but the one I'm "remembering" was a full frontal and a "magazine" pic, not an album cover..

I'd sell a few guitars, OK, not high end ones, for one. I like the NS model I have. Very cool sunburst ! I suspect the real McCoy would be even better.

That is a beauty, no doubt!

GAD, I have a 1977 X-175 with the 5 piece neck. You are right about that. From what I can tell they used the 5 piece neck from 1977-78 and went back to the typical 3 piece construction.

Something else interesting, I didn't realized some x-175s had sound blocks? My 1977 X-175 does not have one nor did my 1975 X-175.

Thanks for yet another very informative review.

AHA!!
2001 Fender Frontline, an X-170 not 175:

Last page, never scrolled down far enough last time I looked.

I think it was the X-170 he played and endorsed for a short while but I could be wrong.
Thanks John
And you were right!
Got sent down the X-175 rabbit hole due to Gary's review, he said the '83 catalog says Taj has/(had?) an X175 in his collection, so suspect he's had or still has both (or at least one of 'em).

Bridge is on there the wrong way around!

Well, crap. Consider it proof that I shouldn't be playing with jazz guitars. LOL.

My OCD won't let that stand and I'll need to reshoot those pics. Oy...

A simple solution - works with extremely skinny strings - or you could shop piano-string to get right cauge.

Put Plain D-string there. :triumphant:
