So, this is a 2000 (yet to be verified by Hans), Westerly built D 55.

I think these are really nice models but I've seen a lot of variation in sound/tone quality in the ones I've owned. I've likely owned a dozen or so of these over the years. Probably 6 have been really, really good, another 4 have been quite nice and 2 (if I remember right) were not great.

I just sold a NH D 55 (superb guitar and the best D 55 I'd ever owned by far) to a LTG member. I hope this one will be as good but I'd be surprise if it is. I also have the 50th Anniv. D 55 which I like a lot.

I wasn't really in the market for one of these but I thought the price was pretty good and PayPal Credit had a 24 month interest free financing promotion going on so it was hard to not go after.

It's really cold here. The guitar arrived today and I'm letting it sit in the case overnight to try and avoid finish checking etc. I'll unlatch the case before I go to bed but won't open it until tomorrow.

Anyway, here's a link to the Ebay ad. I have high hopes for it.

Richard:
The 2014 D55 Richard sold to a .ember of LTG is every bit as good as Richard has described and better. How do I know--I am the member. Ha
But a 2000 D55 is what got me to lusting for one. Bet it is a great D55

I'll wait impatiently for your impressions, but it sure looks nice and it's really hard, if not impossible, to beat a D55 for pure classiness and beauty!! :encouragement:

She is a looker for sure sir. I hope she delivers.. 20 years is certainly long enough to build some mojo and break in a top..

That's a very classy looking guitar and looks to be in great shape. Where on earth can you get anything in the same ballpark these day for that kind of money. Nice score again Richard.

Congratulations! It seems to be either end of 2000 or begin of 2001 as 551920 was verified by Hans as still 2000 and 552033 as 2001 already.
