My lone mongrel Sunburst F30 (was it a '71?) has it's own character, can be quite big and open, really depends on your mood.

Some days, I just totally fall in love with it, it's my best guitar. But I always slink back to a dread...

Where's a D35 can be kind of flat across the board, soundwise, The F30 is definitely boomier, can even get into muddy territory.

I wouldn't reach for it to play Bluegrass, but for Blues, very nice.

In DADGAD, my last craze, the dreads have a steely midrange that can be harsh and clangy, whereas the F30 sounds mellower right off, has way more better bass, nice and growly when you dig in, as well as much prettier singing highs that don't jump right out of a dread without some work.

Again, it turns itself into the desert island guitar.
