Hi Tom. I should have been more specific. At the nut.

AND just to keep things interesting I believe we've seen DV-72's with both 1-11/16" and 1-3/4" nuts which were never officially "spec'd" (that I've seen).
IIRC Tom's is one of those from that period, primarily '93, when several of the high-enders like his D65S and Dv72 got those wider nuts, in fact, isn't yours one as well?
Just can't recall everyone who responded when we took an informal poll to confirm the fact a couple of years back.

On my '93 the nut is 1-11/16". I am questioning as to whether the nut on my '94 was replaced at some time and am planning to have some work done on it as the binding on the back waist has separated. The nut is slightly narrower than the neck. I plan on taking it over to Ken Nash for repair next week. He's also going to evaluate whether a neck reset needs to be done.

The nut on mine is 1 3/4" I can measure the string spacing. Are you looking for string-to-string, or E-E?

Yes, if possible. I just bought a slotted nut off of eBay that matched up to some old notes I had. Fender/Guild part number 3521055079. Although it's listed as 50mm I believe it could be trimmed down to 44.45 (1-3/4").

James, give me until tomorrow to grab the good caliper and do some checking on mine, which is a 1994 built one. I'll snap a photo. So, is E to E a good measurement? Anything else?

DV-72MK: Nut: 1.74" (44.1 mm); E to E (ctrs): 1.46" (37 mm)
DV-73NT: Nut: 1.74" (44.1 mm); E to E (ctrs): 1.45" (36.8 mm)

(some day I will make a new nut for the DV-72NT and widen the string spacing by a mm)
