Long time no post here but need some guidance. When I do post it is usually in the LTG acoustic forums. I just picked up a 1966 Guild Thunder 1 Reverb amp from reverb and the tremolo flat out isn’t working. I am far from an amp guy so any guidance / recommendations would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Could be as simple as a tube, but Steve will be along with more details and knowledge on that model than I have.

Tube first, should be a 12ax7 in that position. A 12at7 or 12au7 probably won't work. I would check the tremolo switch.

There's nothing at all, even at startup?

Hey Default! Yes it is in fact the 12ax7 tubes in the tremolo position. They both light up when I turn the amp on. Nope nothing at all.

Right?? Though not sure what a beige rolex would look like... :)

Oy.

If the tube is weak, it will mess with the trem. If it isn't the tube or the switch, then it's replacing the capacitors in the trem circuit. The earlier version was true point to point, but the beige *tolex* version may not be. I have not popped the chassis on mine to check yet.

I hope you get it straight right away, these are little rock machines!

I ended up selling to Guilded.. It was a great sounding little amp. Just needed something smaller for my office..
