Treem and I have been kicking this idea around, but how great would the marriage of a vintage S-100 with either Franz P90s or soapbar P90s be? 8)

You could do this with P90s retrofit into a humbucker-sized cavity, but I like the cleaner looks of Franz or soapbar pickups. Unfortunately, this concept only exists in my mind, via Photoshop. Still, a fella can dream, can't he? ...

I can't think of any guitars that wouldn't turn cooler by having its humbuckers replaced by P90's. So yeah!

Funny there was a '77 on ebay just the other day with P 90s. I just looked for it and it's disappeared!

It sold for $800. Had P90s mounted in the humbucker cavity with the humbucker pickup rings.

They look like they might be Harmonic Design Z-90s - HB sized single coils.

Looks like I'm second in line for the Marroon Phil-X'd 77 that was on ebay.

It did not sell on ebay, it was just pulled by the seller who then listed it on the Gear Page.

He currently has a "hold" deposit from another buyer, but if the rest of the money doesn't show up soon, I'll be next.

If I do get it, I'm going to Deluxe it. Wish me luck!
