UPDATE: It's back and better looking than ever. Setup with 11s, new bone nut, and absolutely killer, slightly relic'd antique white finish. Looks like it has been sitting in its case in somebody's close for 34 years :)

For those that don't know, I bought Thunderface's battle-scarred, but oh-so-playable red S-100 with the intention of a refin in vintage white. And I did it...

Why is the bridge so far foreword on that one?

Forward compared to what? I think the location of the bridge is one of the things that changed over the years.

Yep, the tailpiece was moved closer to the bridge in 1975. Click my signature pic below to see the difference ('73 vs. '77). Also, I posted pics in a thread showing the change in neck sets/angles that went along with the tailpiece moving up. Check the S-100 sticky thread for a link to it if you wanna see.

Pfft!

I'm using my phone and can't link it short of copying the URL by hand and typing it all out. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!

Does it sound any different now that it's refinished?

Nice! That's awesome. Mind if I keep those for my collection?

As far as I can tell, it sounds no different. But to be honest, I didn't spend enough time with it in the beginning to notice. Just know I loved it then, and still do. The new nut and string spacing has sure helped it play a little slicker -- and to me, that always makes 'em sound better :)

Thanks for the words of wisdom back then.

Absolutely, you can keep those, and you're more than welcome on the words of wisdom. Don't know if they were words of wisdom as much as it was pleading, cajoling and/or whining, "C'mon, buy my guitar!"

Your luthier should be commended. He really did a great job.

In looking at the photos again, I've come to the conclusion that I want it back. You still have the shipping box from when I sent it to you, right? :p
