I'll post pics tonight.

Perfect for Playing Rusty Cage because it is corroded along the frets and hardware. Neck is bowed like a rainbow, but the Extra relief can be adjusted out. The neck repair?!?!? I'm pretty sure it was a snapped neck/headstock. It was a good repair tho and the neck is solid and the frets do not have much wear on them. Nice case with the original case candy(hang tags and case key). One of the tags has FMIC on the bottom. I didn't really know when Fender acquired Guild, but the date on the tag was 1996.

I'm not sure the Crayon/paper thing is going to work on the serial #. We'll see tonight if my daughter will share her crayolas with me.

I am excited tho and will give it a thorough cleaning tonight.

Later, Jeff

Fender was '95, I believe.

As far as the grime...#0000 steel wool and some Turtle Wax on the frets will clean those bad boys right up. For other hardware, Nevr-Dull Wadding Polish worked wonders for me, especially on the pup covers.

And, yea...PICS! :p

So.... What year is it? IDK

The binding on the treble side is loose. What kind of glue and clamping technique do you use to fix that. I'm thinking Elmers

Plays great after I cleaned up the rusty frets and got the gunk off of the fret board.

Oh yeah.... I suck at photography ;)

Can almost make it out in the first pic. Looks like FB00076something...maybe a 1? Camera have macro mode? Might help...set it to macro, then get nice and close, with no zoom.

I'm gonna say 1998. If it's FB0007xx then that should be the answer.

Rockon!

Re: So My S-100 arrived and I took it to rehearsal

I didn't quite get the response from the guys that I thought I would get.

"ohhhhh.... It looks like a SG......."
"oh yeah...... You should get a PRS those things sound awesome" ?!?!?!?!?

The tone was rockin' tho and I'm hooked for good on this guitar.

So do we S-100 owners get miffed when people say we have SGs? :x Do we roll our eyes in indignation? Or do we just smirk because, while they misidentify our guitars as SGs, we know that our guitars are superior to SGs.

All of the above? OR you could just say "Watch this" and do the old "continuous sustain with no decay" trick. Some of 'em might not have heard of Thayil yet. (OK in all honesty I'm an SG fan too, but I'm a Guild loyalist first and even though I'm an acoustic guy I know what S100's can do..........)
