OK, if you're playing out in various settings including church or gigging what is your main axe?

Mine is the '76 D25M. been to a couple thousand gigs,

I don't do gigs but might play at parties, where I bring out my JF30-12 with the super low action.

Bass:

SB-602-N.jpg

For about the last five years this has been my gigging bass. It's an SB-602. While most SB-602 Pilot are made from poplar, this one is the only one I've ever seen in a natural finish. Poplar has a tendency to be a little green and usually isn't finished in natural. It's light and it has the upper strap peg on the back of the horn instead of the end.

For some "specialty gigs in the past I've played a some of my other Guild basses.

Here I'm playing a rare double "J" pick-up Pilot:

We played a gig once for a party for a Senior Citizen Association. We did three sets so I thought it would be cool if I played a different M-85 bass for each set!

Second Set:

Third Set:

Since it was a nice upscale environment I felt comfortable bringing the vintage gear.

Back in the day when I used to play Open Mics I made a point of bringing a different guitar every week. It got to be a bit of a running thing as to "what Guild did Kurt bring this week?". (I have a couple photos somewhere.)

If I'm playing in or out, and it has to be a Guild, then I have no choice, it's the F-30RCE, my only Guild!

The downside of being monogamous...

Actually, that may be an upside! If it ain't broke, don't try to fix it.

I don't play out...I can't sing.

The F-30 has been getting a lot of air time followed by the D-26
