Can't say that I have ever heard of them, but did a little digging. The Four Pennies were probably the most commercially successful UK vocal/instrumental group that failed to chart in the United States, during the so-called British Invasion. Their British No.1 single "Juliet" was the only 1964 Number one by a UK group not to chart in America. Like the Burns bassThe Four Pennies
If you told me the bass in the advertising at https://letstalkguild.com/ltg/index...t-playing-a-guild.164194/page-34#post-1890765 was a Starfire, I wouldn't argue. I wonder which photo is earlier and what happened between the two?The Four Pennies
1960s ad slick from the UK. Some pix of the artists on the list follow...
What's with that headstock Guild logo? Seems a little bold.
To me as well!! When I first saw it, I thought "This has to go in the "Fake Guilds" thread!! Did they just try to make it more easily spotted and read or something? What's with that headstock Guild logo? Seems a little bold.
Before he was an actor, Creed Bratton was a member of The Grass Roots.
