I'm here celebrating my 10,000th post by introducing the new LTG. Not what I'd had in mind, but here's the deal: My server got compromised because the old LTG was REALLY old. I can't have that for various reasons that I won't bore you with, but suffice to say that compromised servers are bad.

Unfortunately, there was no way for me to fix what was there so I had to upgrade the server. That broke VBulletin (VB), and the new version of VB sucks so I moved us to XenForo. I had planned to do this forever but I knew it would be a boatload of work so put it off. Whelp, here we are.

I had hoped to massage a new install into looking more like the old site, and I will still try to do that, but since I can't run them side by side, the hard cutover is what had to happen unless I kept the site down for days, and that was a non-starter for me. I know this will be a tough transition, and for that I apologize, but please try to remember that this is as tough if not tougher for the mods and me because we have that much more to figure out.

I ask that you please bear with us while we figure out what all the knobs and buttons do, and hopefully we won't trigger something catastrophic in the process. Hey, at least this last catastrophe moved us in the right direction.

Well it had to happen eventually and although I'm feeling odd and out of my element I imagine compared to how you're feeling, it's nothing. Thanks for making everything happen. I should be asleep but oh well.... might as well nosy around. (would be a thumbs up if we had one...... oh wait!! We DO!!

GAD, the new look was a bit of a shock, but it seems to all be working, and that's all that really matters. The sort of thing you're doing is a nightmare I would not want to live through myself; know that your work is appreciated.

One thing I miss: Unter the Avator and username in the past it was visible how long a member is already member and how many posts one has. That is currently not visible. So one does not say if a post comes from a newbie or an experienced member. Good Al ist not here currently!

Yes, thanks Gary for bringing us over to the new forum! Apart from feeling like everything is a bit "bigger" (did I just put on glasses?), things seem OK with the new look. I'm sure we'll adapt, and you'll achieve mastery over the forum settings in no time.

I noted the same thing last night. I was trying to go back and add something to what I'd posted and I could not figure it out. I'm forever editing for typos and missed words as part of my OCD disordered self, so if you figure that out, I'd love to know. This is my first time quoting someone as well here on the new board. Seems fitting it should be Ralf.....
