Ser # AK150156 Late 90's I believe

Seller claims it's immaculate, original case in similar condition & the original pickguard is included.

Seems pretty firm at $900,

Beautiful Jeff. So is the guitar.

Little better price than the Artist Award at Arlington for $11K.

Substantially less guitar as well, I suspect.

Great guitars Jeff, I love mine! Though I would like to try it with P90's.

What's that in the finish just behind the bridge?

Not at all sure what it is. Doesn't look like it's in the finish, Appears to be perhaps bubble gum or a dental apparatus woven between the strings? Or worse, a finger!!! Waiting for word from the seller on what it might be.

Not sure I want to know. Suppose it's enough to negotiate a 100 bucks off the price?

Here's the sellers response, sounds like a $150 price negotiation to me:

"
Jeff, this is a piece of sea shell. I encountered a slight buzz when I first got the guitar, and my guitar teacher told me that it was a common occurrence with some jazz guitars with steel tail pieces. His recommendation was a piece of leather. I chose to put a piece of sea shell in there because it would allow the strings to resonate. I've since taken the piece of sea shell out and the guitar play fine without it. No worries, I understand the curiosity

As long as he's not reading this thread....

Beautiful guitar -- go for it. And as far as being less guitar that the Artist Award, plugged in it'll make up ground in a hurry.

Really? Certainly not a "fix" I would suggest. Guess I never heard the "it's common" remark either. Especially not for a $1000 guitar.

Looks like an unbattered calf fry. Should be worth $200 off.
I thought you liked calf fries :? Shouldn't that increase the price?

I like 'em battered and fried. You're the one that liked nuts on his pie.
The nuttier the better! And that is certainly better than seashells in my tailpiece. :p
