Got the guitar. Hey Grot, did I remember you saying there's supposed to be some sort of little box in the case or something? Or did I make that up...

My Blade Runner case has a plastic VHS tape box attached to the inside!

Gah. Mine is missing that. I can see the glue marks where it once was.

First impressions:

It's not that light. Mine is 7lbs 7oz, which certainly isn't heavy, but the S300 I just sold was 7lbs 11oz, and didn't have any holes in it so the weight of this X100 doesn't wow me.

Sustain isn't any better than, say, an S300, but I think all Guild electrics sustain pretty well. Don't get me wrong - I think it's a great guitar, but the hype! Oy, such hype.

It is, however, VERY pink. Yowsa. I love the inlays. I'm going to have fun writing this one up! The seller says it was in storage for 20 years and I believe it because the foam covering the battery crumbled to dust in my hands when I tried to take it off

Matching the color on this one is going to be a challenge.

Is it literally a VHS case like that? Just hot-glued to the inside of the case?

Yes!

Both my Blade Runner Guitar and Bass cases have them!

(Just in case anybody has never seen a Blade Runner Bass!)

So what is the VHS case for? Was there some kind of actual tape in there originally? Or is it just a "storage" box for accessories?

That's an awesome story. I was in my late teens/early 20s in the eighties. Back around 1985 I bought a killer Shogun road racing bicycle that I put some long miles on. I think you know where this is headed...

That killer carpet is from my 1985 apartment. I miss shag. The bike is still in my garage. BTW the color is washed out in this pic. It's more like the Bladerunner's kind of pink.

That's a cool ride. I love the trick seatstay treatment. Also, you are a tall sumbitch, GAD.

That bike has a 25" frame! You can't get frames like that anymore because now smaller is better. It fit's me perfectly because I'm 6' and all leg. It also has a really short wheelbase which is why it has the odd seat stay geometry.

It turns on a dime and I rode it to death back in the day.

On the one that Grot shows, I can't tell if the body goes over or under the strings for a ways. Over the strings would but uber cool but I would think it would really get in the way unless you really like to pick just above the bridge. Not familiar with these models.

Just a trick of the light.
