i still think 1195 is too high. i see these more in the $700-800 range. maybe 900?
like a 12 string version of the D35.

looks like a nice one, other than the book matched neck cracks from over-tightening the twin truss rods.

Ah, good catch.

The neck cracks are fairly common. Don't rule it out just over that. Agreed with Wood though; $1195 is too high.

I could be wrong but my memory is that the only permanent fix for that is a new neck, basically makes the guitar write-off or a "project" because where are you going to find a good neck without buying a whole 'nother project guitar.....

has potential as a player grade for sure, but these are grossly undervalued as it is. hard to say if it needs any attention. im sure it's salvageable, if salvaging is even necessary...still a shame, as 1976 F-112 is a pot of gold

I can see why. He responded quickly and thoroughly twice to my questions. Definitely the kind of seller I would want to work with. Unfortunately this particular guitar isn't the right one for me. Perhaps a good candidate for someone else however.

$600.°°, or make an offer, you have the incentive to invest.

Can someone recommend a good luthier/repair person in MA (I’m NE of Worcester) preferably who knows old Guilds.
I picked up a 1979 F112 but it needs work. It is playable now with decent action and intonation but needs a nut, saddle and setup. Likely needs a reset in the near future as the bridge is low (4-5/16). Not sure if it was cut down at some point. Hoping I can get a few years out of it before a reset. Pics as soon as I can...

Mike, FYI, I PM'd you about Pete Maricle who's done a bunch of excellent work on my Guilds and others over the years. Again, check with Glenn (wileypickett) who might have other suggestions if it doesn't pan out with Pete.

Mouradian Guitar Repair in Wilmington MA also has a fine reputation. Sadly, while searching for a weblink for their business, I realized that the founder (Jim) passed away last year.

Apparently his son (also very experienced) is carrying on with the business:

Ok, I just dropped her off (yes, she is a she) at my local luthier who I thought was away but is not! His assessment was mostly in line with mine. He thinks it should be good for a a couple years before needing a neck and bridge reset. He thought the bridge didn't look cut down, but will take a closer look. So a good cleaning, nut, maybe a saddle, set up, maybe touch up to the frets and I should be in business in a week or two. I snapped a couple quick ones for now but will do a true NGD when she (who needs a name) comes back from the Spa.
