Those pickups look mismatched to me. The neck looks wider than the middle. Is that normal?

Good eyes! The mounting ear on the neck pickup cover is definitely larger than the bridge and middle. My guess is a replacement cover on that pickup but the only way to tell would be to pull the cover and see if there is another set of holes that match the spacing of the other two covers.

That's a very early Guild (#1110) so it could be they were still sussing out the pickup cover specs or there was a degree of "hand-made" to them. Beautiful guitar, and the amp is probably the cleanest Fender tweed amp I have seen!

If memory serves (I owned an X-350 in the past), the distance from the strings to the top of the guitar changes as you move from the bridge to the neck boundary. To solve this spacing problem, the covers of pickups, like the ones on this guitar, were made with different thicknesses. Hence the difference in appearance of the neck pickup.

In this case it appears that the width of the black lip around the neck-pickup cover is actually wider compared to the middle & bridge pickups.

Note how the brass screw fills most of the "ear" on the bridge & middle covers, yet has much more space around it on the treble cover.
