Should have been Greymouth, city of wit. And his name is Coastie.

A great number of Kiwis regard Dorkland as a big toilet ....... over-populated, ghettoes of Pacific Islanders, lousy infrastructure, eye-watering real estate prices and so on and so on.

But, it does contribute hugely to our economy, and a third of our population lives there. Lived there for four years a long time ago, and have absolutely no interest in revisiting the place.

Without even a whiff of chauvinism, I do feel compelled to point out that while Vancouver, right here in dear old Canuckistan, was tied with Auckland for fourth place in that particular survey (Mercer's Quality of Living Survery), it has been the top dog, #1 overall, in the Economist Intelligence Unit's "World's Most Livable Cities" for a few years now.

We like it here.
