When the time is 4:00 PM in Vancouver, it's
5:00 PM in Denver,
6:00 PM in Houston,
7:00 PM in New York City,
11:00 PM in London,
Midnight in Amsterdam,
1:00 AM in Jerusalem,
6:00 AM in Bangkok,
but 12:45 PM in New Zealand's Chatham Island! Do all the Zealies live in space suits and have antennae on their heads?

Who cares - they don't count sheep to go to sleep there

That explains the title of the thread - "Why it's hard for Coastie"...

  You Guys ARE FUNNY!!!....not "counting" sheep to go to sleep!! My poor mind gets an IMAGE of the whole affair...Coastie in his nightcap and leggings, murmering and Bleating his bedtime prayers! ..and it aint pretty!!
These are CRIMES against nature!!
Alas...Poor Coastie...he knows no better....he has obviously been abandoned on this Earth by the mother-craft of his far distant race. To bid his peoples return....He is forced to live on an Island barren of all civilisation, and to communicate Harmonically unto the universe via his beloved Guilds....and this Reptilian-skinned primitive amplification system that his mind has contrived and created!.
Let us been kind Earthlings and make welcome this gentle alien life form....this Wayfaring STRANGER... let us SEE what he hath to offer this EARTH!

You guys are starting to out-Coastie Coastie. But he will be along here any minute now and top us all.

Any minute, as long as it's 45 minutes later..

Evening all !!!

No it's not hard to keep time here, it's just that you chaps are all a little behind us. How is yesterday going for you ?

The Chatham Islands are actually due east of mainland NZ and in a slightly different time zone. I've never been there, but it's notable as the last of the Moriori died there in 1933. For those that dont know, the Moriori were the native's of NZ before the Maori. It's one of the few instances of Genocide I believe.

We are certainly not an island barren of all civilisation, there's at least two Westerly Guilds here, as well as two Hobokens !!

Cheers from NZ

Ian

NB Jerry R wearing jeans and cowboy boots, I was expecting something a bit more Mr Bean !!

Anyone here from Newfoundland?

All us canuckleheads are used to hearing, from birth, that such-and-such an event happens at (say) "12 o'clock, 12:30 in Newfoundland". I didn't know there were other fractional time zone divisions.,
