This pic was posted in a Who FB group, supposedly of their gear in ‘71. (I have my doubts, John, for example, didn’t play Marshalls.) But, what do I see atop the front of house console deck? Is that not a WEM/Guild type Copicat echo? (Another good reason it’s not The ‘Oo.)

Doing some more research, it Is The Who gear, except for the Marshalls (still no idea what they are doing there.) Heres another pic showing the mixing board and WEM Copicat, with Pete on stage. Probably not Guild badged, but documented that they used a WEM.

Question for Who fans - what song during that era would they use a Copicat for? I'm no Who expert, but I can't think of song with that sort of "spacy" sound...

I can hear it (now that I know they used it) in a few numbers from Live at Leeds, like the first part of Magic Bus and Amazing Journey/Sparks from Tommy. Not an overly obvious use like you might hear from Pink Floyd, but subtle sweetening of the vocals.
