I am a it confused with this guitar. The website mentions " Guild X 170", the label mentions X 175. Production year seems to be : 1974 .
But : too "thick" to be a X 170 and the seventies models of the X 175 all have a master volume and the pu swith is in a different place. Experts help please

Thanks man ! Your description is very clear. The guitar stems from my birth year. Would the laquer damage ( seems to be in a case together with a cable for too long) be "repairable" ? The guitar is offered for 1850 $ and seems to have spent it's life in a case. Good price ?

The price is fair providing the guitar has no issues like needing a neck re-set and comes with its OHSC. The finish damage looks like the classic "coily cord" reaction where the guitar was in contact with a guitar cable for an extended time. I wouldn't worry about it since it's in a location that you don't normally see and any finish repair will not be totally "invisible".

Hey thank you again . The damage was described exactly as you said. It is also a bit on the back of the guitar.

Can I assume that the fretboard is NOT Brazilian rosewood so import in EU is possible ?

The probability is high that the fingerboard is Indian rosewood, but as I've learned from researching several guitar brands, you just never know for sure. I know of examples where other rosewoods (or rosewood-like woods) were used for fingerboards, either as an experiment/prototype or very small batch. I'd suggest reaching out to Hans Moust as he has examined more Guilds from that era than any of us here. Also, I'm not sure about importation restrictions to the EU so I can't comment on that.

I've already asked this twice to him for other (okder)guitars ( which all appeared to have brazilian rw btw). So I don't want to disturb him too much.

As far as I know import in eu from brazilian is only possible with guitars made before 1947 or for guitars made before 1992 if the instrument has already been in the Eu before ( re-import) CITES documents are needed then.
