They seem to have all disappeared, I can't find any on Ebay nor any of the online retailers like Elderly or even http://www.gbase.com...where have they gone? I thought they were fairly common a few years ago...it seems like Martin D45s are even more common than the older Westerly D55...what were the production numbers on Guild D55? I would love to get one for under $2000 considering what newer Guild D55s are going for nowadays!

I saw one on ebay recently. 1973 I believe, and It was pretty beat up though. These things seem to go in cycles. They'll be back around I suppose...
Tell ya what though, I love my New 2005-2006 Tacoma D55s, and my Westerly, 2000 D55. I would have to really inspect a guitar that old before buying. All sorts of things could go wrong in 30 years.

I have only seen the D50 bluegrass locally and it's a fine guitar but it's not cheap and the D55 is even more expensive, I figure I can get a vintage one for about the same or a little less money and it will have already been played and opened up....my experience has been that Guilds are heavily built and the older ones sound magnificant when it's has opened up...however, I do admit that the Tacoma ones seem to be more lightly built and I am very tempted....if I don't see an older D55, I might just break down and go for the newer D55...it would go well with the F50R I already have!
