Calling all Guilders-

I'd like something like Photobucket only for .mp3 sound clips. The ability to embed a link in an e-mail or forum page is what I'd like. Also, an ability to make the links private or public is what I would like, since I play like crap compared to most of you.

Any recommendations are much appreciated.

I can't speak for quality, but I recently started a soundclick account and it seems to be OK. I assume some of the quality depends upon how you originally encode your mp3 files. I find the reproduction to be pretty faithful, but YMMV, of course.

It's kind of addictive, so be warned!

I'm a soundclick member, but there seem to be a lot of requirements to post cover songs, also I see no information on posting traditional songs (i.e. Public Domain). Am I missing something? I don't see any link for iJam, either.

For some reason, Soundclick wants you to post something original before allowing you to post covers. Just come up with something you've written, and you'll be golden.

Hopefully they'll accept arrangements of PD stuff. I have originals, but no recordings yet.

I don't know all of the soundlick deal. I know for me I could'nt post a cover until I had posted an original.

Apparently you make your covers your own![/quote:3iyqedul]

I think when I first posted a couple, I didn't think about the legal ramifications of covering someone else's music without crediting them........just didn't think about it, then as time went on I figured I'd better do that. I think I've still got a couple there that don't credit the artists. To be honest with you, I'm never there anymore.............. hey, there's a start ofr an origional......"I'm Never There Anymore!".....catchy?

I've also got other people's music on my Soundclick site as Jeff has asked me to post some of the clips from Arlington done by others and I've put a friend's song there in order to post it here. I'm probably breaking all kinds of laws Grot.

Seems to me that trouble might come running if/when you try to profit from that cover without proper authorization, etc.
I'm the editor of a publication for a non-profit and I often use material from other sources (another form of 'cover') and simply credit the original author.
I haven't had any problems in the 14 years I've been doing it.

One man's cover,
