I caught a bit of Strat Pack on HDNet last night. I saw Paul Rodgers introduce his daughter Jasmine to play this song.

So what's she playing?

Jumbo, soft cutaway, block markers, chesterfield peghead, electrics, looks like rosewood.

Hello folks,

Yes, you are all correct in that it is an F-47RCE but it's not the one pictured above in the year 2000-catalog. The guitar in the video is a slightly later model (read Corona), which has a somewhat different body design. Not really all that important but just for the sake of accuracy.

Sincerely,

hmmm, and which one sounds better?
C'mon, Krysh... You know the answer to this.... Whichever one is in your house!

:D :D

It's really interesting that they changed the molds, clearly, for this model when it went to Corona. I wonder why.

yeah, you are right, chaz :D

but I was really asking myself which acoustic improvement this change had, also regarding the tacoma model?
why did they do it? because for the looks I still would go for the westerly model.

I wonder how they would sound compared to a Tacoma F-47?
How would same but different sound to you? Seriously those earlier Valencias appear to have a more Gibsonesque shape to their bodies and would theoretically sound darker and more mellow, in a way. The Adirondack spruce top of the newer ones would obviously have an impact to sound as well, providing a richer tone with more headroom.

Another reason to own a F47 :D

I have a F47M and I absolutely love it. I never liked cutaways simply becaus eI think it slightly takes away from the volume and resonance from the top.
