Gotta love those plaid sport coats and tweed Fender amps! And the satin stripe down the pant legs to match the lapels on the coat. Now that is "styling"! On another note, I didn't realize that Bill Haley had a steel guitar player in his band. I'll have to go back and listen to his hit songs more closely.

I have had to wear both "tails" and tuxedos as a member of a chorus. So you saw fashion details. I saw a designer who made a traditional tuxedo using a plaid fabric for the jacket instead of the typical black. I would also expect that swapping out the jacket could give the band a new or different look for the second set with minimal costume change.

I was looking for examples of the costume change and found this from http://www.originalcomets.org/ Not sure whether this is an original color photo or a B&W photo colorized. Non-traditional positions for the bassist seem to be part of the act.

I think that's the same photo that Nuuska posted but it's been colorized. All the posture details match up. I've seen some wild moves with the big double bass in early rock & roll band movie clips. Must be a Rockabilly thing!

I did not know that...And, I think I may know where one of those amps is located, and if I'm remembering correctly, it's just being stored in a closet with a cover on it and in "like new" condition...๐Ÿค”
To veer, Jack Casady used one. They are rare enough that I don't know what a fair price would be but I expect the bidding starts at $1000 USD. Search for Versatone might help or we can continue the veer by tagging @mellowgerman.
