Walter plays a very neat old Bluesbird in todays episode:

Actually he plays more than one in that episode and he has a lot more of 'm. He doesn't have the history part exactly right, but that doesn't matter; the music makes up for it ! Very enjoyable to listen to ....... or I should say, I enjoyed it very much!

Sincerely,

Hans Moust

Is that a Cherry Red M-75 in his right hand?

And the Starfire with only a bridge pickup! Oh my! And no controls at all?

What a cool collection!

Here's the story of a "new" red one and of "Roadkill" (the brown one) from Walter Parks himself (he posted it on Instagram):

"For years I've searched for a second naked vintage Guild Starfire – what we call "a project". After I strip off the spray-can red, and straighten and refret the neck, I'll use this one for altered tunings.
Years back, when I received the brown one via UPS, its necessary parts accompanied in a plastic bag. The mahogany, my preference in Starfires, was covered in dried stripper paste. The previous owner stopped mid-job upon discovery of a broken neck repair. Lucky for me I don't care about such things, because bringing wounded guitars back to life is my hobby. For a recording session at Jim DeVito's Retrophonics on that very arrival day , I quickly mounted only the bridge pickup, tuners, tailpiece and strings. The remaining innards dangled pathetically by their original cables – hence it was named "Roadkill".
The resultant song became Sugarhouse on Swamp Cabbage's "Jive" disc.
"

He simply loves vintage Guilds!

I learned about him when he was sideman for Richie Havens at a concert I went to some years back. Understatedly awesome.

Here's a video of him playing one of Richie's restored guitars:
