Video comparison of my new D2612CE and my 1973 F112

This is a quick and dirty run-through designed to display the sound of the two 12 strings.
I was a little sloppy, I hope folks can overlook that.
My overall impression viewing the video is that the F112 sounds better, it should it's had almost 50 years to mellow the top. The D2612CE is quite bright in comparison, new spruce top, poly and the laminated ebony back and sides all contribute to that. I believe it will serve me well with a band for that very reason.

Just figure out how to really warm up my six-string 1973 Guild F30 (Mahogany / Sitka). I need to add six more stings!

The tone on you F112 is really sweet. The F2612 sounds very nice also.

The D2612 has the midrange punch typical of dreads. The F112 has a sweetness that I've notice in my F212C and, I agree with you, the sound is more mature ("broken in"). Different enough that there's not a lot overlap, i.e. - keep them both. :)
