Value of Guild F50R-NT

Guy 2 hours from me has a 78' Guild F50R-NT looks super clean but wants $3,200 for it. that seems high to me or have I been out of the guild world for too long? Has hang tag etc.., I'm thinking of making the drive. What do you guys think? thanks!!

Yeah seems high for a '78 but I don't follow pricing closely. If it's Very Very Very Good condition (assuming it has OHSC also in good nick) that might be part of it.

One way I think about it these days is "What would $3200 get me in a new guitar?"

A few years ago, I’d expect a used near mint one to go for $3000-3500, but as used prices have tanked recently maybe $2500 would be a good price.

$3200 seems a bit high to me as well. I bought my "80 F50R for $2000 7 years ago. It needed a neck reset 2 years ago ($600) but it plays great now. If you make the trip, definitely check out the neck to see if a reset is in the guitar's near future. You could always make him an offer if you're really interested in buying it.

A friend just bought one of these for $3200, but it had a fresh neck reset and new frets, in a wealthy area top notch shop. It is beautiful in every way.
