Not sure where to post this...where can I go to find the value of a Guild F-65 CE? I think a 2001 mfg date. About a 9.5 out of 10...Anything to look for on this model?
TIA

Bill,

One on ebay right now for 1300.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... :IT&ih=017

There were a few on gbase a month or two ago priced from 1200 - 1400.

If you are not in a hurry to sell you can price yours around those. Otherwise I have seen them sell on ebay when starting low without reserve's anywhere from 800 - 1200 depending on condtition. For such a nice guitar the demand just isint as high when compared to other guilds around the same period and list price.

Hope that helps a little.

Gotcha.

If its in the condition he says its in...then i dont think its unreasonable. But at that price I think your paying more for the condition than anything else.

They come up every few months...so if your looking to get something for around 1000 and dont mind a few battle scars I would wait it out.

Re: Value of Guild F-65 CE?

Hi Bill,
My experience has been that the F-65CE is a great value: as a very playable, wonderful sounding, versatile guitar. I play mine in the church worship band almost every week. Regarding price, yes that one is in the higher range of ones I've tracked in recent months. Mine came off of craigslist with a much lower price, and has needed some work. If your into pristine guitars, then this might be the ticket, as Tim says. If you can go a bit more vintage and accept some playing wear and tear you should be able to easily beat that price. In fact, it seems there have been a few go for less than a $1000 in recent months.
Good luck!

One thing I'd like to add is that the F-65 CE's in natural blonde or sunburst finishes tend to go lots higher than the ones with the green, black, red or blue finishes. It's a significant difference.

The antique sunburst one I snagged for $800 last fall was an amazing deal - a fabulous guitar. Wish I could have kept it but I sold it to my best music buddy, so it still comes over for visits. Marcellis got one in sunburst for about $1200 and seems very satisfied.

Also, the 1993 version I had came with an older Fishman and the original rosette. The one you are looking at has a more advanced Fishman, as well as the fancier abalone rosette and all the rest of Guild's most opulent trimmings.

Guildzilla's right. I paid $1150. Buy it Now - before anyone bid on it.
It's a 1997. The EBay ad said 1999. But it was wrong.
It says 1997 on the label and on the documentation.

It was a high price. But I'm sooooo glad I bought it!
It's the guitar I always dreamed of owning.

A lot depends on the color. I've seen 'em priced from $750 (green) to
$1400 (red).

These are rare Guilds. There weren't a lot of them made.
TJ Mangum got a heck of a deal on his. I think the price
will be rising in the future. I noticed that particular Guild that
is the object of this thread was sold quickly at the BIN price.

The F-65ce is really one of Guild's best & most under-rated guitars.
All that sound from a 3" body! How'd they do it?

It's a deal at that price. Too bad there isn't a BIN price.
Watch it and pounce at the last minute if the price doesn't
go too high.

You won't regret it.
