again, easiest way to solve this conundrum is to remove the TRC altogether....

I find that the TRC actually almost makes sense on the snakeheadstock, as the narrowing contours match. It could go either way.

"Almost", but not quite! I had a '84 D-64 "snakehead" for over 30 years (now wileypicket's). It looks out of place if you put it upside down. It's a Guild first, a "snakehead" second!
