A few years ago, I was finding my EMG P/Js (in an 85 Pilot) starting to sound uninspiring.

Although it sounded better, the bass was still lacking something. That is when I decided to purchase an EMG BTC-control, which is essentially an active cocentric tone pot. Once installed, you can boost or cut the Bass and/or treble.
The BTC, coupled with the 18-volt is HIGHLY recommended and quite easy. Over time, the magnets do lose their magic and don't sound as hot and punchy as they used to. I have 7 Pilot basses and have done various electronic modifications to a few of them. If anyone needs assistance, just write.
