Been playing these for the last month and still absolutely love them. They both really check all the boxes for me.
They are Westerly Guilds but I feel they are as good as any acoustic I've owned or played over the last 45 years.
I personally prefer them. And having both the Mahogany and the Rosewood back and sides is a great palette of tones.
Price point aside you like what you like. I was sad to see the non cutaway seems to have been phased out.
Anyway play what you like and like what you play - If it's a Guild - than all the better:cool:

But certainly check out the OM 120 too.
My OM 140 just slightly won over my OM 120. Sold the OM 120 and got 2 NOS Guild hardshell cases.

I have a GAD30R and have been thinking about the OM 140. Glad to hear you like both the OM 140 and 150.

I am so happy with these 2 Guilds I can't imagine parting with either one.
That's how I feel about my GAD30R. I sold all my other guitars. I just had a setup done and I like it even more now.

Now I didn't expect this but I'm really liking the OM 140.
There is something about the Mahogany back and sides that voices different than the
Rosewood - Not better - but really appreciating the way the notes present themselves.
Love the OM 150 but lately the OM 140 is getting alot of attention.

Really interesting thread. I haven't played a Guild OM shape in decades. I owned one Model #? but i remember it was Sitka and Rosewood and produced lots of volume when strummed and had a nice mellow sound when bare finger picked. I seem to recall that the OM was slightly shallower than the Dred' body. As many of you know I've just started playing again after about 10 years so I'm back to being novice imho.
How does the new OM140 / OM150 body depth compare to Dred' dimension. I've looked on the Guild website and the Guitar Center site and I have not seen a mention of bout dimensions or body depth. I'm actually considering a visit to my local Guitar Center which is 20 miles away.

I've looked on the Guild website and the Guitar Center site and I have not seen a mention of bout dimensions or body depth. .

From the Guild website:

D50:
Upper bout - 11-5/8"
Lower bout - 16"
Body depth at upper bout - 4"
Body depth at lower bout - 5"
Body length - 20"

OM240 (only non-cutaway OM on the site:
Upper bout - 11-1/2"
Lower bout - 15-1/2"
Body depth at upper bout - 3-3/8"
Body depth at lower bout - 4-1/8"
Body length - 19-1/2"

To me, the difference in size feels larger than the numbers indicate.

Thank you jwsamual for the information. I looked at the Guild site but did not see any measurements ....................so what else is new. I think the OM feeling larger may be due to the waist being significantly different than the bout widths imho. The body depth difference is kind of what I remembered on the Guild OM and the difference of depth seemed even greater on the 1991 Martin M36 that I owned.
I won't hijack the thread with other questions I have about the current Guild business. Thanks again.

As I have gotten older I have come to appreciate the OM size more and more. I've been working with my body my entire life and
the OM is a very comfortable guitar for me. Got rid of my last larger guitar not too long ago - my Gibson Advanced Jumbo - Great guitar but
since playing the Guild OMs I don't miss it at all. And I am playing acoustic alot more because the OMs are such a comfortable size and really like the tone and dynamics of them.
But that's my story.
I hope you find a guitar that works for you.
Certainly try to get your hands on a Guild OM or even an F30 to at least
see if they inspire you.
