...master volume knob. Does anyone know where to find a correct master volume knob for a 1965 Starfire VI? What other guitars would such a knob be available on? Any information whatsoever about this knob would be appreciated, especially considering the scarcity of information out there (including Han's book!). Thanks.

Hi,

A knob of the type you were interested in just closed on ebay today. It sold for around $50. These pop up on ebay a few times a year so you need to check it a few times a week.

Hello hep_yosef,

There's nothing unusual about this knob. Here's a close-up of the Master Volume on a Starfire V.

Quite a few models had this knob and most of them are pictured in 'The Guild Guitar Book'. But knowing what other models it was on, doesn't get you one. The knob wasn't used on any low-end models and it doesn't make sense 'stealing' one from a high-end model. The only low-end model I've seen them on was on my personal M-20, but in this day and age a nice M-20 is not considered a cheap guitar any longer.

Anyway, these knobs are really hard to find which is the reason they usually sell for quite a bit of money.

Sincerely,
