So I'm giving guitar lessons to 5 veterans for Guitars For Vets at the Veteran's home the other night. One old gal, Marge, shows up with her own guitar, kids bought it for her she said. Marge is in her 70's and in great health. In fact, she's the only one older than me She's the wife of a deceased veteran, and she lives at the Vet's Home.
After the lesson we're making small talk, she asks me where I'm from, I tell her, she says "Oh, I lived over there too." In fact, we found out we lived on the same street in two different neighborhoods! It gets weirder...that's because, as we discovered, we lived in the same two houses. Turns out when my dad moved us out to farm country in 1957, her dad and my dad traded houses, and her family moved into our old house in the city!
